The UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve Rhön in central Germany offers, besides benefiting from a unique cultural landscape, various possibilities for field trips and training events related to specific topics, such as:

  • Conservation of agrobiodiversity (local crops, varieties and animal breeds, semi-wild plants, etc.)
  • Enhancing social and economic development of rural areas (value chains, etc.)
  • Organic farming, climate-friendly production, food and nutrition issues
  • Nature protection and tourism
  • Sustainable development, regional networks

Seminars and training events on these or related topics can be booked in German or English (French, Spanish upon request).

Field trips and trainings are usually planned and implemented in collaboration with other partners of the UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve Rhön. Participants are experts and young professionals from Germany or other countries, or also students or young people undergoing practical training in related fields.

The main focus of the courses and field trips is to connect the local experiences and approaches for sustainable development with globally discussed topics and fields of action.
